Privacy Policy
Nakṣatra (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is operated by ThinkRoman. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how it is used, and the choices you have. By creating an account you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account details — your email address and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Birth particulars — the date, time, and place (name, latitude, longitude, time zone) you enter for yourself and for any family charts you add. These are needed to compute your chart.
- Your questions & readings — the questions you ask about a chart and the generated answers, so you can revisit past readings.
- Basic technical data — a session cookie to keep you signed in, and standard server logs (e.g. IP, request time) kept for security and reliability.
We do not knowingly collect financial account numbers, government IDs, or special-category data beyond the birth particulars you choose to provide.
How we use it
- To compute your astrological chart and readings, and to keep them available to you.
- To operate your account, sign you in, and send password-reset emails.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Service providers we share data with
We use a small number of trusted processors purely to run the service:
- MongoDB Atlas — stores your account, birth particulars, and readings.
- OpenAI — generates the narrative answer to a question from your computed chart data. Questions and the relevant chart facts are sent to OpenAI to produce the answer; per OpenAI’s API terms this content is not used to train their models.
- Resend — delivers transactional email (password resets).
- Vercel — hosts the application and the calculation engine.
Each processes data only to provide its service to us. Depending on the provider, data may be processed on servers outside your country.
Data retention
We keep your account and charts until you delete them or ask us to close your account. Cached readings expire automatically. Password-reset tokens expire within one hour and are single-use. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at the address below.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us and we will respond within a reasonable period.
Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt, transport is encrypted with HTTPS, and reset tokens are stored hashed and single-use. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
Children
Nakṣatra is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes
We may update this policy; we will revise the “last updated” date and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
